Dom Brown: guitar and vocals

 

Dom Brown first toured with Duran Duran in 2004, standing in for lead guitarist Andy Taylor. In 2006 he was made full-time lead guitarist. Over the past ten years, Dom has performed on four world tours and recorded three albums with Duran Duran, co-writing over 20 songs on their last two albums – All You Need Is Now (2011) and Paper Gods (2015).

 

Dom has co-written six released songs with Mark Ronson and shares other writing credits with Anamatronic (Scissor Sisters), Mr Hudson, Kelis, Jahméne Douglas (X Factor 2012 runner-up), Sandi Thom, Tom Grennan (BBC Introducing 2017 nominee) and Nick Hodgson (Kaiser Chiefs). In 2003, he composed and produced the music for an hour-long episode of BBC1 drama, The Canterbury Tales.

 

In 2012 Dom set up Church Row Studios in Wandsworth and was involved in recording, producing and engineering both established and up-and-coming artists. In 2016, he relocated and founded Rockwood Studios near Tooting Bec Common.

 

Rockwood Studios is equipped with lots of fantastic gear, including Neve, Thermionic Culture, API, Focusrite, Brauner, AKG, ATC speakers, and more. It is also fully stocked with great vintage and modern musical instruments.

 

Artists who have worked in Dom’s studios include Duran Duran, Mark Ronson, Mark Owen (Take That), Ian Hunter, Anna Calvi, Sandi Thom, Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Jahméne Douglas, Chris Spedding, Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats), The Rebelles (featuring Tracie Hunter), Ryan Ashley and Tom Grennan.

 

Over the years, Dom has collaborated with many top producers such as Mark Ronson, Danja, Jimmy Douglass, Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. As a session musician, he has performed live or recorded with artists including Justin Timberlake, Liam Gallagher, Paolo Nutini, The Sugababes, Emma Bunton and The Appletons, among others.

 

Dom Dom has also performed on TV with Elton John, Rod Stewart, Lionel Richie, Take That, Robin Gibb, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Eddie Grant, Eagle Eye Cherry and Girls Aloud.

 

Dom has released two critically acclaimed solo albums and a critically acclaimed blues album with Blue to Brown (featuring his voice artist father Rob Brown). Blues, soul, funk and rock genres are all true passions and he has explored these styles extensively throughout his life.

Phil Spalding: bass

 

Phil got his first professional break with the Bernie Torme Band during the punk boom of 1976/77. He then formed part of The Original Mirrors first line up in 1979 and got his first experience of 'big' concerts and chart action. Joining Toyah in December 1980 was a commercial turning point as he became part of the Toyah Band's hit making years between 1981 and 1983, helping to make memorable pop singles such as 'It's A Mystery' and 'I Wanna Be Free'. After that, from Mike Oldfield's 'Moonlight Shadow’ through to Robbie Williams' 'Feel', Phil has helped to make some truly iconic and internationally successful recordings as, primarily a bass player, but also as a guitarist and vocalist.

Ian Thomas: drums

 

Ian Thomas is a London session drummer from Cardiff, Wales.

 

Without doubt Ian is one of the UK's most sought after and respected session players.

 

In 1984, he moved to London to pursue his career. There, he joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

 

Ians musical credits see him playing in diverse musical genres from Big Bands through to working with artists such as Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Sting, Mick Jagger, George Michael, Tom Jones, Seal, Rufus Wainwright, Mike & The Mechanics, Michael Jackson and many others.

 

Ian also has numerous credits for TV and film scores and was the drummer for „The Voice” in Great Britain.

 

From the jazz and soul worlds some credits are: Hamish Stuart, Kenny Wheeler, Jamie Cullum, Jim Mullen, David Sanborn, Al Jarreau and the NDR Big Band.

 

Ian was part of the band which played behind Winwood and Clapton at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in July 2007.

 

He also played at the Clapton and Winwood Madison Square Garden shows in February 2008 and joined Eric Clapton’s touring band for the dates in the Eastern U.S. and Canada in May 2008.
